When I worked at Oxford Club as a web project manager, I had the opportunity to take headshots of the entire staff. It wasn’t just another assignment; it was an incredible experience filled with fun and laughter. These were my colleagues—from the sales department, the research group, the creative team, to the editorial department. Each session was full of energy, and we had a blast shooting in Mount Vernon, Baltimore.

Mount Vernon: The Perfect Setting

Mount Vernon, Baltimore, provided a fantastic backdrop for the Oxford Club headshots. This historic neighborhood is known for its charming architecture, grand monuments, and vibrant atmosphere. The blend of classical structures and lush green spaces made the environment ideal for both professional and creative portraits. The elegant scenery added a touch of sophistication to each staff photo, giving them a unique and appealing look.

The Value of Great Headshots

High-quality headshots are crucial for any business, including Oxford Club. These images weren’t just used internally; they were featured across the company’s website, printed materials, and videos. A well-crafted headshot helps convey professionalism, trust, and approachability. When staff members feel comfortable and confident in their photos, that positive energy reflects in the company’s branding. Capturing colleagues in a natural, friendly way enhanced Oxford Club’s marketing materials, making them more engaging for clients and partners.

Gear Used for the Shoot

For this project, I used the Canon EOS 5D Mark III with an EF35mm f/1.4L USM lens. This combination was perfect for creating sharp, vibrant portraits. The wide aperture (f/1.4) allowed for a beautiful background blur, making the subjects stand out while keeping the feel intimate. This gear choice ensured that the final images were of professional quality, with excellent detail and warmth.
